penny baker
Penny Baker is a contemporary watercolour artist, who studied Fine Arts at Curtin University. She lives and works near the beautiful Kalgan River in Albany, Western Australia.
Penny is an avid gardener and delights in every aspect of the botanical world.
Her artworks reflect this delight and she often works within the genre of still life, enjoying the idea of stopping to observe, ponder and be inspired by the intricacies of nature.
She has a particular love of native flora, for it’s diversity in shape, texture and colour and for it’s historical presence in many works by Australian female botanical and still life artists that inspire Penny in her own practice.
Penny enjoys exhibiting her work and also working on commissioned pieces.
