Patrick's love of art started with music as a child, learning classical violin and playing in bands through school. After completing a plumbing apprenticeship he got his first tattoo, which ignited a passion for visual art. Patrick began studying the fundamentals of drawing in his spare time. "Although I have not had any formal art education, I have been privileged enough to have access to, and learn from many great teachers both online, and in books. I enjoy a broad range of styles and highly value fundamental skills and principles. I have an especially strong connection to, and appreciation for, tattoos and tattoo related art. The cultural history, diversity, and modern day possibilities fascinate me. I am currently in the process of transitioning careers, apprenticing as a tattoo artist at local shop Darklite Tattoo. I am still in the infancy of my artistic journey, and have plans to expand my skills into other mediums as I progress. "
"For the EMBODY collection of work I wanted to convey the male and female form, using lines primarily, with minimal to no rendering. I established a clear and bold silhouette, with a flat internal tone to give a strong separation from the white background. I chose the poses based on each bringing a different movement and action to the others, as I appreciate the diverse range of motion of both the male and female figure, whether it be to convey strength or elegance.
