emma lashmar
Emma Lashmar is a Boorloo-based artist, passionate about the dynamic and expressive qualities of molten glass. In the studio she plays with the possibilities of this amorphous material, allowing the mesmerising process of heating and cooling, breathing and shaping, flux and flow to sculpt each form.
Trained in the Fine Arts (Glass) program at Monash University, Emma has exhibited widely in galleries and artist-run spaces, with works purchased for notable private collections. She has received numerous awards, and featured in exhibitions which gave flight to a series of richly rewarding residencies and technical development workshops in Argentina, Germany & Scotland.
Having lived interstate and overseas for a decade, Emma returned home to Perth and reignited her professional practice here with studio residencies at Paper Mountain, ArtsHouse, Vancouver Arts Centre, and Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA).
Emma remains curious about the intimate relationship we develop with the vessels selected for use in our daily lives, and brings this passion to crafting her singular wares. Current stockists include AGWA Design Store, Goolugatup Heathcote, Mundaring Arts Centre, Midland Junction Arts Centre, and Creative Edge Arts Collective.
